The inherent miserable shakti of this material existence ………………………Nectarean Mellows

Then you are forced into a womb and we are learning what’s in the womb and then you are a baby and then Kapiladeva explains the miseries of being a baby, the miseries of being a youth, the miseries of a student life, the miseries of grhasta life miseries of old age, miseries of death and the whole cycle again and again and again. Prabhupada was very, very concerned that we should be convinced of the miseries of the material existence. Unless you are convinced of the inherent miserable shakti of this material existence, there is no escape by any material efforts then we won’t really take to Krsna consciousness, we won’t really chant the holy names of the Lord. So Prabhupada wanted, side by side, read Krsna book, hear the glorious pastimes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His eternal abode but also read the teachings of Kapiladeva.

In fact Prabhupada was so merciful when he was in Vrindavana in his last days, last weeks of his life, we can understand through his life and through his ecstatic teachings, that he was on a highest level of ecstatic rasa; he is an eternal resident of Vrindavana and certainly he was listening to the transcendental pastimes of Krsna when he was in Vrindavana but he was also personally ask his devotees to come and read the teachings of Kapiladeva to him and that is a fact, the book ‘The Teachings of Lord Kapiladeva’ that just came out, Prabhupada wanted to be read those not much for himself but for his disciples, it is important to hear these things. Kapiladeva explains the miseries of material existence and he also side by side explains the process of devotionals service. We have to be convinced as long as you have the spirit of material enjoyment, you can’t really hear the subject matter of Hari Katha.
